When another tutor wants to add you

Accept or decline when a tutor who has your mobile number asks, in your portal, to add you as a parent.

For parents. Updated October 2026.

Where to find it

Your portal's Home, under Pending invites (Invites once you've answered one)

Steps

  1. Open your portal and look under Pending invites, or Invites once you've answered one.

A row with the tutor's business name says they want to add you as a parent. It shows nothing else.

  2. If you know them, press Accept. If you don't, press Decline.

Accepting shares your name and email with that tutor. Declining ends it.

  3. After you accept, the row says you're waiting for the tutor to confirm it's you.

Once they confirm, their schedule and billing for your family join your portal.

  4. Optional: Changed your mind before they confirm? Press Withdraw.

Your name and email are taken back and nothing is added.

Good to know

  • This can happen when a tutor records your mobile number as the contact for one of their families, and your account already holds that number.
  • The tutor sees nothing about you until you accept, and your other tutors never see any of it.
  • Tutello sends no text message or email about it. It only waits in your portal.
  • Once you decline, the same tutor can't ask again for that family. They can still send you an invite link.
  • When you're already with that tutor, the row says they want to add you to another family.
  • If the tutor says it's not you, the row says so and nothing is added.

If something's not right

"This invite is no longer available."

That request has ended, for example the tutor changed that family or has already answered. Reload the page to see where it stands.

I don't know this tutor.

Press Decline. The tutor isn't told.
